How do you guys handle your RB playing your defense? PPR

I am in a bit of a jam this week.
I have D Freeman VS Carolina this weekend and I start CAR on def.

How do you guys play this?
Defense gets points for return yards in our league.

Do yall still play both even though they will cancel out points? Do you sit one hoping he doesn't go off and you miss out on points?
