How many teams are in this league? Which spot is your friend drafting from?

10 teams. If he picks 10th i know that he definately should go WR/WR

Draft order not yet determined.

My question is does he pick WR (brown) if he drafts 1-6 slot or should he still go RB.

I would think brown/dez/DT would be too good to pass up with 1ppr, even before an elite RB. But that is my opinion

I'm not a fan of going into a draft with a strategy. Let the draft come to you. And no, you still want good RBs in a 1 pt ppr league. If anything, 1 pt ppr expands the wr field. I drafted in two 1 pt ppr leagues this weekend, drafted 5th in both, and took wr with 2 of my first 3 picks in both, but didn't go wr wr in either. But that's just the way the draft fell. If I could have drafted a rb2 I really wanted with one of those picks I would have, but the better value was wr. One of those leagues we start 3 wr and a flex, so there is even greater value for wr vs a 2 wr and a flex league. Lots of factors to consider.

I like Bell/AP in the 1-2 draft slots. 3-10 draft slots are fair game for Antonio/Dez/DT in PPR formats.

i draft this way as well, but my friend has only basic fantasy football knowledge. I was trying to give him a few "rules/pointers" and tell him about some sleepers to pick in the later rounds.

But i have played in 1PPr league before, and it is a luxury to have Brown in a PPr league. just seeing what everyone thinks. my strategy in PPR is to have the best 3 WRs that i can possibly have and have a top TE and then pick RBs later (4th/5th round), since Wrs control the league. this strategy has always gotten me in the playoffs and has helped me win the league/ finish runner up many times.

but just getting opinions.

I think that sending someone with limited knowledge into a draft with a strategy like wr wr is a recipe for disaster. Draft could fall where rb is the obvious choice, but he's not knowledgeable enough to deviate from the strategy. I think a better strategy would be rank the top 30 players based on his scoring system, and when it's his turn, take the player at the top of the list. Give him a tiered rate sheet for rounds 3+. Tiered drafting isn't a hard concept to understand, even for someone with limited knowledge.

Back to your original question, typically in 1 pt ppr, I would take tier 1 rb over tier 1 wr.
