12 team PPR league. Hard to keep up with things in a live draft, especially when one guy takes 3 minutes and then the next 3 rattle off picks in 30 seconds. All that said, not terribly disappointed with my team.

QB: Carr*, Wentz (worst spot since I goofed and drafted 2 QBs with Week 10 byes)
RB (2 starters): McCaffery*, Gore*, Riddick, Kamara
WR (2 starters, 1 flex): Julio*, Michael Thomas*, Fitz (flex), Decker, Melvin Jones
TE: Kelce*, Hooper
DEF: Pats
K: Crosby

Had the 6th pick (snake).

Drop hooper and wentz. You aren't starting either unless it's a bye week or someone is hurt. Get help at running back immediately.

Riddick, Kamara and McAffery could give you nice return in PPR formats. Use all three in favorable matchups against bad defenses.

This is what I was going for in later rounds when I picked Riddick and Kamara. I reached a bit on McCaffery (depending on whether you go by ESPN or Yahoo; yahoo has McCaffery at 27, I got him at 30).

By the time my 2nd pick came around, Zeke, Gurley and Howard were gone, so it was out of Lynch, D. Murray, L. Miller, and Leonard Fournette at that point.

Didn't really care for any of those over Michael Thomas, so I took him and just took McCaffery the next round. I've never been one to draft really good runningbacks and I'm always moving them.

I'll likely drop Wentz and some others once rosters are up and waivers are open, but thlse last 3 rounds were just "frick it" rounds. No one could keep track of who was coming off it was going so fast. One guy kept trying to pick defenses and kickers that were already gone...lmao!

ETA: just as evidence of how little I have relied on stud runningbacks in FF, I have another PPR league that I have won twice in the last 3 years. I had Lynch in 2014 as my best RB, and Bilal Powell and Todd Gurley last year.

Obviously that won't always work, but it has worked for me in the past.

I like your team. I'm assuming you waited and drafted QB late, so Carr isn't bad and you can play QB roulette during the year if need be. Your WR core is strong, and I think 30h is a good spot for McCaffrey in PPR.

I think you made a mistake drafting 2 QBs and 2 TEs. Now, I'm sure you got those guys in like the 12/13th rounds so it's not killer, but you should have grabbed a few upside RBs instead, or if you're not gonna do that, should have just picked the best D and then K, because those were just wasted picks anyway. Overall though, should be a fine team.

Also - I love live drafts. My league recently switched from live to online and I miss doing live drafts so much.

How long had you played without doing a live draft?

The 2nd TE and QB were really just late garbage round picks. The whole live draft thing was new to me, and not having the rolling list of available players and being able to quickly evaluate several players at once got me in the last 4 rounds. I did my research for about the first 10 rounds, and that was it. I've always just lived on free agency when it comes to my bench anyway. In my experience, and it may just be poor drafting, but I've done better by moving players and paying attention to who is hot, especially later in the season. So, I've gotten to the point that the late rounds just don't matter as much to me, unless I can get a steal down there.

I took Carr a bit earlier than I would have wanted to or care to say, but for some reason we went on a run of QBs early after Brees, Brady, Rodgers, and Matt Ryan got picked. It's like everyone else kind of freaked, and I just jumped in.

My problem with RBs is, and this is mostly due to poor results with anyone outside of the Top 5 or 10 (and even with some of those...GURLEY!!!), and constantly rotating RBs. The only reason I kept Gurley all season last year is because I couldn't drop him...URGH!!!

Closest I've come before this was the first time I played, and a work league. But in both instances, we just met somewhere and used the online draft.

This was the first, full blown, "make a pick, stick it on the big board, and it all gets uploaded the next day" live draft.

I would look for another QB. Carr is going is going to have a rough go of it vs Chiefs(x2), Broncos (x2), Chargers, Titans, Pats, and Giants. His schedule is much tougher this year. I would definitely want someone better than Wentz to stream with Carr.

I'd also drop Hooper and pick up another RB flyer. Hooper is fine, but you will never start him over Kelce and you aren't going to flex him over Fitz.

By far the best way to do it .

Man, it was a blast. Just hard to keep up with at times, but the trash talk is so much better in person.

Mark Ingram fell into the 9th or 10th round. In about the 8th, one guy started yelling Mark Ingram on every pick. Funny shite when he almost did it on his pick.
