Got a draft upcoming for a 12 man dynasty auction superflex (QB) league and have never done an auction, dynasty or superflex league before. Budget is $300 and there’s 25 spots.

Anybody got any advice on how to prepare for this as I haven’t done much research?

If you're doing it on the sleeper app, you should be able to just mimic your league's settings. The bids are a little inflated with the AI bidding for the other teams, but you can still scale it back and get a good idea of what you need to spend where.

I'd also hop on youtube and watch a few different videos on basic auction strategy.

Since it's a dynasty, keep in mind you are building a team for the next 5+ years, not just the upcoming season.

I have this exact same draft coming up in a few days as well.

If you've never done a superflex, QB values will be through the roof. It goes from a position of large supply/small demand to the exact opposite. IMO, the rookies are overpriced in dynasty. You could get a much better deal on a guy like Danny Dimes who is an undervalued rising star with plenty of career left. He's my favorite target in these drafts. I would shoot for 1 win now QB and 1 young guy with potential. I'm sure the board will disagree, but I think Cousins/Jones is a great value QB combo that will leave you with two guys that can score and money to fill out other positions.

Good luck.

This. I love 2 qb leagues because as crazy as it sounds, it more closely resembles the NFL... Ie. Qb IS the most important position.

Not only that but it adds more complexity and strategy to it

Plus, it makes 15+ players more valuable and rookie drafts are deeper

Having a plan is a good way to succeed at any draft, but I think it’s a necessity for a superflex dynasty auction startup.

Have the following ready to roll when you log on:
1) ranking/valuation of players SPECIFICALLY for a dynasty superflex league. Your platform will have stock rankings, but may not adjust appropriately for your non-standard format.
2) Dynasty team theme- Do you want to go younger? Try to win now with Vets? Try to straddle the line and do both?
3) Roster construction- stars and scrubs or balanced/deep roster? How much will you spend on QBs (they’ll be the highest priced as an asset class)?
4) nomination/bidding style. Do you want to nominate guys you want and try to get them cheap? Do you want to nominate guys you don’t want so others will blow their money on guys you’re fading?

Auctions can be more fun than snake because you have more say over the players on your team, but they are also easier to screw up. Planning can help protect against that. Good luck with your draft!
