ESPN's David Newton reports the Panthers are peppering Christian McCaffrey with "short passes and screens" in practice.
After observing on Thursday, Newton reports it's "obvious" the Panthers have "big plans" for their first-round pick. Per Newton, McCaffrey is "so fast on his cuts that it leaves (defenders) grasping for air." McCaffrey is an exceptional runner, but it's become clear the Panthers view the passing game as the best way for him to make a rookie impact. It will be a big change for an offense that hasn't been big on screens or running back targets under Cam Newton.

I think he's got Reggie Bush talent but idk if I trust Carolina to use him that way.

I do think he will be productive and think he could catch 60+ passes his first year.

I think he's a better runner than he's getting credit for though

Per Jags.com's John Oehser, Marrone "wasn't joking about this, and he wasn't smiling" when he spoke. "Zero," Marrone replied when asked how many times he wants Blake Bortles to attempt a pass each game. "I’d like to run the ball every play. I want to go back to the old way. I want to change the game." It's the same style of football Dallas and Tennessee have successfully implemented over the past few years. Leonard Fournette will be the centerpiece of the Jaguars' offense, and the weekly game plan will be to hide Bortles.

Rookie running back Leonard Fournette was expected to make an immediate splash in Jacksonville’s training camp. However, the waves the fourth overall pick of the draft made on the first day on Thursday were not expected. "I knew he was a good downfield runner, but he's been really good out of the backfield," said Jacksonville’s starting quarterback Blake Bortles when speaking with reporters following practice. "Good with routes, he's good doing one-on-one stuff with linebackers, getting away, creating separation and he's got really good hands."

You got to be like Ray Charles or something to qualify?

I need it in my right eye. Had 20/20 forever. Suddenly the vision in my right eye has gone to poo.
