14 team, PPR

QB
WR
WR
RB
RB
FLEX (WR, RB, TE)
FLEX (RB, TE)
K
DEF

We have 25 player rosters. My question, is that too much? Main thing I'm worried about is how long it'll take for a roster to really turnover. We are only forcing owners to cut 5 skill position players a year.

Should that forced cut be more? Or should the roster size be smaller? Open to suggestions..

for 14 teams that is way too much. I'd probably cut it down to 19-20 spots max.

In my 10 team dynasty we have 23 roster spots and cut down to 19 before the season and have a 4 round rookie - f/a draft.

We have a 5 round rookie draft with the option of cutting up to 8, so a few teams will have an extra 3 rounds of drafts (supplemental).

I'm trying to convince the co-commish to start at 20. I think it's a better spot to start at in the leagues infancy.

Came to a compromise.

25 man rosters, but you must have 2 Kickers and 2 DEF on the roster at all times.

Must cut at least 5 skill position players every year, and up to 8 of any position in total.

So essentially, 16 offensive skill players are being kept every year.

Haha no thanks.

I'm in Vermilion's league. My argument is that I want to STASH as many players as I can as long as I can. Smaller rosters make me cut some of my "projects" before they bloom!

For that reason it's def better to have too many roster spots in a dynasty than too few.

Don't like large rosters where you can just stash players for the sake of stashing them. That takes no strategy. Choosing which players to stash bc you only have limited spots makes it more challenging.

It puts more strategy on the draft and less on adds/drops. I'm a guy who believes draft should be far more important than the in season waivers moves.

I'm with you that the draft is more important. Where I think you are coo coo is that a championship trophy is the same whether you have a good draft or not. Championships usually are won with the fa adds the last month of the season.

Yep when you get up here in double digit trophies its many many times more rewarding to win that title with the team you drafted over a couple waivers Guys you picked up in week 13. When you lean on guys you add that late you aren't really showing that you know what you're doing. As much as when the team you drafted wins you a title.

it takes more skill than drafting players everyone already knows about

you need to research deeper imo

Without reading the responses, I can tell you this is absolutely too many. You need some room for people to be able to capitalize on waiver wires. With 25 players on each roster, that will allow more teams to be able to sit on players just for the hell of it.

I play in a 12 team keeper league that is a 16 team roster and each team can keep up to 6 players plus 2 developmental players. As the years go by there will be some teams that will need to rebuild and by having a roster that large, it will shape the league to favor some teams while making it difficult for other teams to become competitive.

Lol yea Jamal Charles and chark west both light it up for KC. Don't take much to K ow that ware is gonna light it up.

I don't need to research deeper. I'm the best I've ever come across. And I do much less research than most. Just gotta be able to identify talent and opportunity.
