I'm in 3rd place, but I lead the second place team by 5 in this weeks game.

We will have the same record if the score hold, and I will be 4 points ahead of him for second place. He is done for the week, and I have Philly's Defense. Do I sit them and take the win or play them and risk a negative costing me a game with the upside of building a bigger tiebreaker lead.

It's a 6 team playoff, so the #2 seed gets a bye to the semis.

The defensive points are:
quote:

Each Sack (SK) 1
Interception Return TD (INTTD) 6
Fumble Return TD (FRTD) 6
Kickoff Return TD (KRTD) 6
Punt Return TD (PRTD) 6
Blocked Punt or FG return for TD (BLKKRTD) 6
Blocked Punt, PAT or FG (BLKK) 2
Each Interception (INT) 2
Each Fumble Recovered (FR) 2
Each Safety (SF) 2
0 points allowed (PA0) 5
1-6 points allowed (PA1) 4
7-13 points allowed (PA7) 3
14-17 points allowed (PA14) 1
28-34 points allowed (PA28) -1
35-45 points allowed (PA35) -3
46+ points allowed (PA46) -5
Less than 100 total yards allowed (YA100) 5
100-199 total yards allowed (YA199) 3
200-299 total yards allowed (YA299) 2
350-399 total yards allowed (YA399) -1
400-449 total yards allowed (YA449) -3
450-499 total yards allowed (YA499) -5
500-549 total yards allowed (YA549) -6
550+ total yards allowed (YA550) -7

That's pretty conservative. If they get you 6 points then you lead him by 10 points. I would play them.

I would sit them, but that's just me. Remove all doubt that you will actually win this week.

It's unlikely to happen. But it's worth considering since y'all's defensive scoring rules really suck balls.

I don't think it should even be possible for a defense to score worse than -3. I mean how bad would a TE, WR, QB, RB have to be to score -3?

350 yards and 28 points allowed should not be worth negative 2 points.

Philly defense has been possibly the best fantasy def so far this year. You start them w confidence. There's less than 1% chance they go negative this week. Their ST play has been outstanding thks year.

I love made up shite like this.

To OP, I would sit them to preserve the win.

Sit the defense. They arent going to score enough to justify risking a loss.

Sit them and enjoy your W. I doubt Philly gets you negative points but I'd rather remove all doubts.

Assuming points scored is the W/L tie breaker like most leagues, i'd play them. Every point matters

Sit them

Secure the W...A few extra points can easily be made up next week

Before taking a knee, I would confirm the rules on fielding a complete team. Although it's rare, in some leagues, you'd lose by default for not starting a complete lineup. I don't agree with that rule because it penalizes strategy, but I did get burned by it a league a few years ago.

In most leagues I would still start them to try to widen the point total for future tie breakers.

But in this league where yardage totals can give you negative points, I would sit the defense. Yardage is way too fluky to depend on.

I'd sit them. I mean they'll probably realistically get you 10-15 points with a good performance. Is a 14-20 point lead really that much different than 5? Both point advantages could easily be caught by one week from this guy.

To me it's not worth the risk of losing, if Panthers somehow go off. Just play it safe.

If you're beating #2 and will be tied, chances are your first tie-breaker is going to be head-to-head. I'd check this.

If it is, take the win now.

I'm in a league with similar settings and benched a defense earlier this year to get a win. My defense ended up getting a 4, but I think it was worth it to bench them. 15 more yards would have given them a 2.

To OP, youre sitting on 50 yards worth of (standard scoring) yardage when it comes to stat corrections. would suck to loose the game by .1 if they change a pair of incompletions to fumbles and/or negative rushing yards. Highly unlikely, but would still suck.
