Season long is the better game, who wants to go up against a bunch of PHD math guys uploading hundreds of rosters a minute?

Plenty of single entry contests if that's your worry.

Too much variance for my liking it season long in generally all evens out.

I use the 'draft' app and do a draft every week with 4 buddies. I have a god time with that. But it's Prob because I've won 6 out of 7 weeks.

I have no idea how you think there's more variance in DFS than season long...

Over the course of a whole season, Antonio Brown is gonna outscore Brandin Cooks no doubt about it... In a one week situation, who knows? Way more luck ie variance involved in a one week matchup.

Meh if you choose the right players and matchups consistently you will win. DFS greatly reduces injury issues which are a big "unlucky" factor in season long. More iterations and options= less variance. Just have to know how to use it correctly.

Season long is the same. Draft the best players and you win consistently. Id rather have a player for the whole year and all the flukey variance type games balance themselves out and the best players usually have the most points by seasons end.

The app is called 'draft'. We settle up at seasons end no $ exchanged through the app.

That's interesting. I still play sometimes.. like a few weeks ago I won $150 with a lineup that included a saints stack.

It's one of those things where I'll play as long as I can but now that I have to drive to Mississippi to set the lineups it might be every other week or every two weeks I'll take a stab at it.

I was a huge skeptic at first of DFS. But that changed when I won and found out it wasn't impossible to cash some of those big tournaments.

But in a Monday/Thursday tourney last year I placed in the Top 50. Basically that hail mary Rodgers heaved to Richard Rodgers against the Lions vaulted me into that category. I only won $50. The 1st place winner took $10,000 and his score was 147.92

my score was 135.22

so yeah even when you do well in a tourney.. like even place fairly high you can still feel slighted.

its a combo of luck and skill. Those goons on the DFS podcasts that say its all about research/skill are delusional in my opinion. Its fun and all but I couldn't imagine playing as many contests as some of those guys do. I guess when you put in most of your time like they do you can convince yourself its all about skill.

but I've won money (even if it was a modest amount) by putting lineups together without much thought involved. Thrown away money like that too but I promise you those same dweebs who play it for a living lose a ton too. I'm not talking about the guys who use optimizers and don't build their own lineups either.
