could pryor be the next sneaky FF qb pick up?

Oakland is horrible and most of the time will be playing catch up in games. his running ability keeps him active in every game, he was 65.5% passing 13 for 112 rushing last week and has some tasty matchups this year. even with 2 picks he scored 26.5 in my league. at 6'4" 235 lbs he's tough to bring down.
as much as I hate to say it, the running qb is here to stay. look at kaepernick, Wilson, newton, rg3 and to a lesser degree luck (he runs well but always looks to throw). most of these guys (besides cam) didn't get drafted last year. it's these kinds of pick ups that bring you to the FF playoffs.
I have romo but he's going up against KC and pryor has jax. it's all about matchups and not names. it takes balls sometimes for these choices but never ever ever look at your league's projected stats. like the weather man, they're usually wrong.
here's a nice read and video

As long as he is running sure he is a good play/fill in but I wouldn't count on him gaining me points throwing the ball. His value comes directly from how many yards he gains on ground/touchdowns rushing.

I may be wrong, but I don't see him being a good option to start. He had one decent game against a bad defense. I'd wait to see what he can do against a defense with a pulse.
If things got so bad at QB that I had to start him, I wouldn't feel good about winning my week.

I said the same thing about cam until he threw it all over the field his first year. 4,050 passing and 700 rushing for 35 tds. cam stats
he had steve smith and sometimes shockey.
kaepernick in basically 8 games (only threw over 20 passes once) 1800 passing 415 rushing and 26 tds. they have a good running game/great defense kaepernick and pryor are the same size. k's stats
so with the lack of running game and defense, I think pryor could but up some serious numbers in certain games. I wouldn't count on him as a starter the rest of the way but you could do a lot worse some weeks.

It is my opinion, but I think he is hot garbage. He wasn't that good of a college QB. Again, what till he plays a decent defense.

I think Cam is a better passer than Pryor....
Pryor is college completed 60/56/65% of his passes which while Cam was at 66% his only season as a starter. I know that is flawed and shows that TP actually got better but just watching the two in college it appears Cam was a more polished passer.
If TP plays a whole season I could see 600-800 rushing yards, 5-9 touchdowns rushing but I think he levels out passing at close to 55%, 3200-3500 yards, 15 touchdowns and 20+ int.

3500 total yards and 31 tds his last year (3rd) at ohio state good college qb
tom brady went 2600 passing -47 rushing and 21 tds his last year at michigan great nfl qb
is he brady? absolutely not even close and never will be. is he a more than serviceable FF qb in certain weeks? absolutely. I will hold judgement on him as a full time starter until the end of the year.
brady went 185 passing and a td with no running game and nobody to throw to week 2. pryor went 217 passing 1 td and 112 rushing with no running game and nobody to throw to week 1. in my league brady = 22 week 1 15.05 week 2 pryor 26.05 last week.
once again, he can't hold brady's jock. but in spot starts in FF the numbers don't lie. pryor could've won a game for you last week and brady could've cost you one.
with this sweet matchup against jax, pryor could be quite a few points ahead of brady the first 2 weeks. even if he only gets 25 he will be 14 points better than brady in 2 games.
i'm just sayin' there could be some value there.

I picked him up for Cam's bye week in my cheap league.

I will say right now Pryor actually has more experienced receiving core as Moore has 3 years, Streater 2 years, Ford 4 years. While Brady has Edelman 5 years and then a bunch of rookies with Amendola out.
Running game is a wash because McFadden and Ridley are both good back and both have capable back ups in Reece/Vereen. The Pats have a better offensive line obviously, but can't really compare two in college becausewe both know they are completely two different types of QB's. Like comparing Manning to Cam is ridiculous because of the types of QB's they are.

I saw it too late. it's been edited
pryor's week 1 is still better than brady's FF points wise
vereen is on IR by the way.
my comparisons are FF points, one is a legend (highly drafted) one is a nobody and is available on the waiver wire. that's it.
I also compared him to out of nowhere guys like kaepernick and Wilson. just didn't spoon feed the stats like I did for others.

I know but only short term, he will be back in a few weeks but all that does is support case of Oakland having the better depth behind the starter. Each starting RB is capable of being an all pro. McFadden has shown glimpses of his talent but injuries limit him, Ridley showed last season he could be a RB1 but fumbles this season are holding him back.

fred taylor anyone? I don't like McFadden at all. he's had a few good games but that's it. ridley got benched for vereen who did pretty damn good for himself until he broke his wrist.
yes I think brady will do better but I've been scared of him all off season. go back to his first few years before moss and his td interception ratio was about 50%. serviceable 3,500+ yards a year but half his td's have picks on them. good but not great. take away gronk (I know he's coming back but can't stay healthy), amendola(hurt already never stayed healthy), hernandez, welker and vereen(won't come back until at least week 10). his numbers have to suffer this year.
you can't just line up the entire receiving core of st. amant high school and expect to have great numbers.

No shot in hell I'm ever relying on a bad running qb on a bad team.

he tied carson palmer and out scored cutler, Wilson, smith, romo, Dalton and brady.
also, he was 5 points or less behind brees, vick, luck, Stafford, ryan and flacco.

It was one week. If you want to play with fire go ahead. That offense will struggle mightily at times. I'd rather a guy who is going to consistently be on the field and sustain drives throughout the year.

Yes it was one week but that's all it takes. Brady has 15 this week and Pryor could get 20 easy against jax. that would make 2 weeks.

I might have to take a flyer on him. I have a terrible QB situation with Roethlisberger and no real backup. I'm in a 14 team league and depth is a real issue.
Posted on 9/14/13 at 10:55 am to rintintin
I am seriously considering him over RGIII. He scored 12 points on the ground last week without a rushing touchdown.

His passing isn't as bad as people make it out to be. He has enough tools to get it done through the air.
He is also one of the biggest athletic freaks in the league. I don't think people realize he is one of the fastest players in the league and is 6'6" 235
