Scoring + H2H would be the same as H2H. Standings are based off record, with tiebreaker being who scored the most total points. In the playoffs you would strictly do H2h to determine who advances. My league this year had a guy make playoffs at 10-3 even though he had 120 less points than someone who missed the playoffs at 8-5. They both would have been 15-11 using the scoring + h2h formats and 8-5 team would have had the tiebreaker and made the playoffs.

You literally just proved yourself wrong

if it was the same then the 8-5 would've made the playoffs and not the 10-3 guy. Did you mean h2h+scoring was the same thing as total points?

Not sure. I know H2H was different from the format we had the past two years. Goes by W-L record, then its total points scored as the tiebreaker. Once in playoffs its all about scoring the most points against your opponent. Thought it was fair. 12 man league.

The league I am referring to is just H2h, not the format I was talking about. I want to go to that format but can't get enough votes.

If we did use that format, then the 8-5 (15-11 in other format) would have made it over 10-3 (15-11 in other format) because they had more points and the same record.

You not understanding, does not equal, me proving myself wrong.

You go for the guy you think will give you the most points.

Kinda like Miller vs Martin, same amount of points, same avg, but Miller put up 8 games scoring less than 10 pts, while Martin did it only 6 times, with 3 of those in the first 3 weeks.(then more consistent after)

Aj Green vs Demarius, AJ scored more points, but had 4 games less than 10, DT only had 1.

It literally.. And I mean LITERALLY... takes 5 minutes

That's what I figured, but I'm not commish of any of my leagues so I don't know what would be involved.

On espn, you change the matchups from that week and match someone from the top half against someone from the lower half. I have done it on my phone for about 4-5 years and it takes less than 2 minutes.

So I was interested in how this would have affected our league this year and I spent the last 30 minutes or so figuring out the standings in this new proposed scoring format. The conclusion I came to was that the same 6 teams would make the playoffs with only the 4 and 6 seeds flip flopping in the new format. I get that there is definitely an outlier every now and then but usually these things tend to even themselves out over the course of a year.

In a league I am in we did head to head but only division winners were guaranteed a playoff spot. The remaining spots were on power ranking. The only change it made was the 9th best record made it in over the 8th due to power ranking. This is a 16 team league.
