Never played that 50/50 win/loss based on scoring each week.
Is there a huge difference?

It is still like head to head but better. TDFL was the first league to do it that I am aware of.

Do you go for less dynamic players? Like Chris ivory over Ameer Abdullah? High floor guys over high ceiling guys?

I enjoy head to head, but i think a good way to make it a little more fair is to reward H2H winner a W, and also award a win if they finish in the top half of points that week, or a L if they finish in bottom six.
This way, someone that loses 135-130 gets 1 win and 1 loss that week, because their point total was in the top half that week.
Someone that wins 67-65 would also get 1 win and 1 loss for that week because they scored in the bottom 6.
This helps balance out strength of schedule, and would help prevent a team with pure luck that finishes in the bottom of points scored, but had the least amount of points against from making playoffs over a team more deserving

You go for the guy you think will give you the most points.

It ain't rocket surgery, amirite!?

it shouldn't alter your draft strategy at all.
It definitely rewards the consistently good teams vs. guys that get lucky on matchups

Im all for eliminating as much of the luck factor involved in fantasy football and this is a big help. I wish I could get the guys in my leagues to think likewise.

I really enjoyed it this year

Me too, I pushed for it but couldn't get the votes.
I'm gonna push hard this year to get at least one league to go to this.

My league won't go for it
League leader in points didn't make the playoffs this year. If there was ever a year I had ammo, it's this one. And it still won't pass.

How do the playoffs work in the scoring and scoring + H2H formats?
Posted on 1/7/16 at 11:57 am to Tiger at Law

Scoring + H2H would be the same as H2H.
Standings are based off record, with tiebreaker being who scored the most total points. In the playoffs you would strictly do H2h to determine who advances.
My league this year had a guy make playoffs at 10-3 even though he had 120 less points than someone who missed the playoffs at 8-5. They both would have been 15-11 using the scoring + h2h formats and 8-5 team would have had the tiebreaker and made the playoffs.

Mine won't consider it until a free site automatically generates the results. No one wants to take the time to make the adjustments.

Why not have the top 4/6 make a 2 round playoff. Top 2 scorers make it to the championship for a H2H.

It literally.. And I mean LITERALLY... takes 5 minutes

I used to never be on this but then I faced David Johnson in all 3 of my leagues when he dropped 40 on the fricking Eagles, which knocked me out of 2 of the leagues.
