It's a standard yahoo league.
QB
WR
WR
WR
RB
RB
TE
Def
K
And 6 bench guys.
I was thinking of going RB then WR the next two pick then RB again then QB or WR depending on who's available. Like I said 1st year so I know nothing. Team name is Lords of the North.

My advice would be to have a loose plan for drafting. You can think about it all day long and ask this board for all kinds of advice but all it comes down to is what is everybody else doing in your draft which will determine the way you need to draft. In your league I wouldnt pass up a top tier WR in the first round just because you want to go RB first. Especially since your league is starting 3 WR and no flex.

I would go WR, WR, RB, RB, and then go from there. Having the thrid WR instead of a flex means having a third starting running back doesnt hold as much weight. you can pick up some decent staring RBS in rounds 3-5.

Just FYI it's a 10 man league.

Do you know what spot you will be picking? Is there a flex spot?

I usually wait late for a qb, 7th round or later, and fill up on wr and rb.

Find a website that lets you do rankings according to your league's scoring. Don't have a set plan for the draft and let the flow and best available players dictate your picks.

Keep an eye on preseason projections but don't overthink it when watching preseason games.

If you have an XM radio subscription, the fantasy sports station has a lot of really good draft analysis right now.

Have fun with it. Since it's your first year, you'll have a lot to learn. Stick with it and you will become better.

My draft strategy is entirely predicated on where I'm drafting. Without knowing your draft position, I doubt we'll be able to give you very good advice.

I believe I'm picking 8th.

I just did a mock using the Yahoo rankings based on their scoring system and this is what I ended up with in a 10 man draft.

QB - Romo
wr - Julio Jones
WR - Brandin Cooks
WR - Jeremy Maclin
RB - Jeremy Hill
RB - Andre Ellington
TE - Jimmy Graham
K - Dan Bailey
Def - Houston

Bench Players
Jarvis Landry - WR
Doug Martin - RB
Josh Hill - TE
Michael Floyd - WR
Joe Flacco - QB
Isaiah Crowell - RB

I debated if I should have went 3 WR and 1 RB with my bench players but pulled the trigger on Crowell with my last pick.

Can you post your draft round by round?

You may want to as many mock drafts with your draft pick spot then analyze them with different tools that rate your draft. I like the football guys one. Here's a link to yours.

LINK

I'll try to do a 10 man mock with the 8th pick and post my result.

take the best player available.

but within the first 4 rounds i like to have at least 1 RB you can trust and at least 2 WR.

that 4th player is the wildcard. You'd like to come out with two RB1 types +2 really good WR's, , or 3 stud-ish WR's and a non time share RB.

if you're picking 8th, target a guy like CJ Anderson or Demarco Murray in the 1st, then come back with Dez bryant or Demayrius Thomas.

in the 3rd/4th you can look guys like Alshon Jeffery/Mike Evans/Randall Cobb/Deandre Hopkins or a RB like Lamar Miller or Mark Ingram.

A CJ Anderson(1st), Demaryius Thomas/Dez/Odell(2nd), Alshon Jeffery/Evans(3rd), Deadnre Hopkins(4th) would be a nice start since you start 3 WRs.

Is there a sight that will rate your teams for free? Probably not as good as the football guys but adequate.

Do a couple of mock drafts at espn. It's a good way to get the hang of it and will give you an idea of where players are going. If you have a pick between 1-6 I'd prob go RB, WR, WR, RB. If you're at the tail end of the draft order then I'd do like WR, WR, RB, RB or you could also try and get Rogers/Luck with that 1st or second round pick.
