This cycle is much more of a movement. Facebook was tolerable in 2012.

Was the TD poli board this confident in 2012?
Not to upset the apple cart, but I had access to some of Romney's internals leading into election day. They had Romney winning. So I was far more confident Romney was going to finish well.

definitely, and for good reason. teh polls were a lot closer.

i do think trump does better than romney but hilldawg still wins the national vote by at least 2pts.

Trump has hit a cord with this country that Romney never did. No one was excited about Romney.

Hillary is a horrible politician unlike Obama.

Will Hillary get out the vote like Obama did?

Only about 5 posters were confident.

But they were vocal.

This board is way more confident this cycle.

Not even close.

One way or another, there will be an epic melt

I don't know about the board but I didn't feel near as confident about Romney. A lot more people are gravitating towards Trump than Romney. Its not close either.

the polls were closer, but there were fewer 'undecided/other' voters in 2012. With the tremendous amount of 'others' that could swing Clinton or Trump at the last minute, it makes a potential three-point break either way a possibility.

But to answer the OP, this board was just as, if not more, confident that Romney would win.

Liberals on this board are very quick to cling to the voices of a few as a consensus opinion.

In reality, I'd say the consensus opinion here is that Trump is behind on paper...but given what has been seen thus far with respect to polling and the media in general, that the information can't be fully trusted. And, therefore, there is hope.

A this moment, as a logical person, I truly haven't come to the conclusion that it's impossible for Trump to win. With Michigan in play (both sides seem to agree with this), things don't really add up. Michigan being in play makes me question a LOT of the information that was put out. If that makes me delusional, so be it.

Far more confident. We had an insider who worked at the Weather Channel feeding us inside info an getting our hopes up really high. Can't remember his name. JoshuaChamberlain maybe? Good times.

Yes, but everything fell in place for the the Dems in the last week. Plus Romney Cucked out after the second debate. This time is different so I would say the overall feeling is Cautiously Optimistic for a Trump Landslide Victory today.

Yes.

Watch: in a couple weeks, at most, they'll hate Trump for losing.

Just like Romney.

I don't think so.

Trump has done everything he can to blame this election on everyone but himself. I think he will lose, he will refuse to answer the question on whether or not it is legit, and he will launch Trump TV with Steve fricking Bannon at the helf in less than 2 weeks, and all of these suckers will hop right on board and give him their money

The plan all along

Mainly it was my belief that how could they vote Obama into a second term based on his first term. It still baffles me.

I lost good money in the Ireland pool on Mittens after feeling mighty frisky for a while early that day.
