If Hillary wins the popular vote...

I think that's the sign that Trump needs to prosecute her to the full extent of the law. If she wins the popular vote, the democrats will go crazy touting that for the next few years in their attempt to try and destroy the electoral college. Opening up the case and investigating every corner of the Clinton Foundation will result in Hillary being thrown in jail and remind everyone that the electoral college got it right.

Actually this election is a really good example of why the Electoral College is a good thing for the republic. Unless you're okay with every election being decided by California, New York, and Illinois every year.

Oh, I'm not disagreeing with that at all. That's why I think Trump should prosecute her and throw her in jail. It'll remind everyone that if we relied on the popular vote, a felon would be in the white house right now.

That would take a constitutional amdendment. The EC is like the weather. Everybody complains about it but no one does anything.
I saw an article earlier today. If the popular vote decided the election, Clinton would have depended on the populations of all the large metro areas in the country for her victory.
That would suck and it would skew policy to a new special interest group -- them damn city dwellers!
The 12th amendment modified the EC as originally written. The details are deathly dull.

Winning the popular vote is meaningless. Few Presidents in recent history have done that.

Such a stupid argument considering Trump won with over 300!EV.
If popular vote was the end all be all then he would have campaigned harder in Ca, Oregon, Washington, etc to try to look up as many total votes as possible. He didn't bc those votes were irrelevant. he was NOT getting 50% of the vote in that state so why even bother.
He campaigned based on the needed path to victory.

With California and New York, Dums can depend on 1,000.000+ more votes than Repubs in those two states alone.

If popular vote was the law of the land there would still be Jim Crow, no gay rights, no women's equality, etc.. The list of laws is extensive as hell of minority protections that would not exist under popular vote rules.
