MacBook Pro 17 Replacement, Best Color Accuracy

Wife had the final model MacBook Pro 17 and it looks like it has seen its final days. Apple techs wont touch it because Apple has deleted the diagnostic tools and no longer offers repair parts. I would rather not spend $2500+ on a replacement, even though this model was $3k+
She pretty much exclusively uses Adobe CS, not sure on the version, with PS and Illustrator being the main programs.
Are there any good PC options that offer comparable color accuracy? Any product suggestions are welcome. She is an apple lover, but I feel if we moved to PC, future cost would be diminished, but dont want to lose anything in comparison.

Why not buy a new 15" MBP and see how she likes it? The change in resolution between those two models may negate the differences between the 15" and 17"

'I am trying to stay under $2k and hopefully under $1.5k, a MB15 with a graphics card is $2400

Have you checked out Refurb.me? I just looked and they have some sub $2k 15" MBPs for sale.
Is she open to the idea of switching to Windows? It seems like if she has used a Mac for this long (and is used to the menus, keystrokes, shortcuts, etc for Adobe Suite) she may not like the change. Just a thought....
It seems to me that she keeps a computer for a while. It may be worth spending the extra few hundred dollars and getting something that she can keep for another 7 or 8 years. I'm not too well versed on recent Windows machines, but I'd trust a MBP to last that long over an HP, Lenovo, Dell, etc.
