Am I making this up? Nuts and dogs

Are nuts poisonous to dogs?
I was just snacking on some, and my dog looks at me wanting some and for some reason I said "nah bud, I think these can kill you". My SO looked at me funny. I'm pretty sure I'm right though I can't remember why I think/know that

They've been licking them ever since I was a kid with no apparent problems.

I don't know if they're poisonous but my dog always throws up almonds. So, I think they aren't good for him.

Already googled and found my answer but thanks
Also learned that just a handful of raisins can kill a dog. That's nuts

Nuts - All nuts contain fats, which can lead to gastrointestinal upset, such as vomiting and diarrhea. Foods with high fat contents can also potentially produce an inflammatory condition of the pancreas known as pancreatitis. In addition, many commercially sold nuts are salted-and if a pet consumed a large volume of salt from the nuts, this could potentially pose a risk for the development of a sodium ion toxicosis. Nuts known to be toxic are walnuts and macadamia nuts. Brazil nuts - The good news is that there is currently no data indicating that Brazil nuts (Bertholletia excelsa) or almonds (Prunus dulcis) are toxic to animals.
So basically it's a mixed bag. Some nuts no, some maybe.
Lesson learned, keep your dogs away from your nuts
(I'm cracking myself up with all these puns)

Causes kidney failure if I remember correctly.
Read up on all the "people" foods that are bad for dogs and why they are bad. I'm constantly googling on my phone if something is ok for my dogs if I'm considering giving them some fruit or vegetables(ex: strawberries...ok in moderation)

I tend to have a strict no human food rule since my guy has had a very sensitive stomach since he was a puppy. Gave him chicken skin once (ONCE) and woke up to dog shite everywhere. And that's just the one time

I only give them fruits and veggies that they can have.
They FREAK OUT when they see me cutting up apples for them, their favorite snack.

My dog ate a while bag of peanuts the other day and she's fine. Chocolate will kill them though.

If your dog has a normal stomach he should be fine. Mine just has the most sensitive stomach of any dog I have ever owned. Very shortly after we got him (about a month or two in), he started yacking in the middle of the night and I had vomit all over.

You ever give them carrots? Supposed to be good for their teeth and breath.

I've never let a dog lick my nuts - not as a kid or an adult. I'm happy for you if you enjoyed it, but no, I'm not jealous.

All the time. My lab loves baby carrots.
