im not trying to bash this thread or topic but realistically how many people actually give a shite? ive lived in Louisiana my entire life for the most part and have never been to a Z's game nor have I ever had any interest, and I'm a huge sports fan.
Are they even good?
I think just the fact that it's minor league baseball is enough to keep me uninterested. it's so hard to build team/fan relationships because so many players coming and going all the time.
Again, totally not intending to flame or bash. Just thought I'd ask and share my point of view. Pretty sure nobody cares about mine though
regardless,

I wish it was Double A, more stars seems to come out of there than Triple A

would help if it was affiliated with an MLB franchise that the area cared about
only HOU or ATL would make logistical sense, but i dont see either of those happening. ATL never and not HOU without a new state of the art stadium
I believe MiLB in NOLA is done after Miami leaves.

The Astros are actively trying to get their AAA team in the northern suburbs near the The Woodlands. No baseball on NOLA would be a shame

What is the risk of this? Is there smoke about them moving?

Stadium is a dump now compared to when it opened. It needs a lot of work. No one goes in New Orleans to support it - it's too hot.
Would be interested to see if it could work in Baton Rouge but that's a waste of money to build a park downtown.
LSU could've worked a stadium deal like South Carolina did that might have worked.

you may be a huge sports fan but you are not a baseball fan. in many respects minor league baseball is better than the bigs (from a fan perspective). and the movement of players is not much different than the bigs. each year presents a new team no matter what league; it's just the way it is. minor league ball is damn good ball, esp in AA or AAA. the good things? much, much cheaper, smaller crowds. can get great seats for just a few bucks, parking is free or cheap. the only thing minor league ball sucks at is the concessions are almost as expensive as the majors. i have been to venues all over the south and was even able to afford to go with my family. many good experiences and if you've never been to a game i suggest you can't judge fairly. you really ought to give it a shot; that is if you REALLY like baseball. it's way better ball than college, yes, better than LSU ball. the players are damn good ball players.

This seems to be the opinion of alot of folks, which is totally fine. Being a huge baseball fan, I love minor league baseball, would be even sweeter if the Z's were AA.
You can pretty much always find a guy who has logged some MLB time, or maybe you catch a guy coming down to do a rehab assignment. Smaller parks, cheaper prices all around, and still pretty darn good baseball are all reasons to love MiLB.
When I lived in LA, we went to tons of Z's games. It would be a shame if they left.

I agree totally.
AA is better ball. More legit prospects and it's much more interesting.
I haven't been keeping up...are their murmurs that it's ending? Fla pulling out or the owner is calling it quits?

Astros owner is looking to buy a triple A team and move it to the houston area, zephyrs are rumored to be that team
