"Gettysburg Address"
Ohio State's marching band does it again. This band director has to be making $$! What they have done this season has been simply amazing. The thing is, these kids only have a week to learn this.

Not as impressive as a few of their others, but they have set a high standard; still entertaining.

Weakest of their shows posted so far this year (not bad but not nearly as fun as the Michael Jackson or Jurassic Park shows). Really isn't that difficult to learn a show in one week, but credit goes to them for constantly forcing themselves to do different ones (as opposed to LSU where we'll just flip the same show to the other direction once or twice a year).
I do wish more bands would return to this style of marching. I think it was big in the 60's/early 70's (some marching band historian can correct me) but bands got away from it to the more abstract shapes you see now. I've always felt the primary purpose of the band should be to entertain the crowd. Nothing does that better than forming people/animals/whatever on the field and making them move.
Much better than geometric shapes and block movements.
