Have any of yall had yalls shotgun dipped? I was wanting to get mine done after the season is over. How long does the pattern stay on or does it start to peel off at any time?

I had my 22 mag dipped last year. I haul it around all the time and it still looks good as new. I'm pretty sure there is a clear coat on it similar to on a car.

Yea my benelli's barrel is starting to show its age and has some rust on it. I was looking at HydroGraphics Unlimited in Gonzales or I got the card of a company at the DU Banquet that does it in Baton Rouge also

Do it and never look back. I had Shadowgrass put on my SBEII and it looks great. Yes it does get a clear coat over top of the dip. It holds up great. Mine gets beat up in the blind, the woods, back of the Ranger and it still looks great. I've learned real quick if ya want to see if something will hold up to abuse. Then give it to a duck hunter to use. The dip on mine had stood up to the test so far. Most places warranty their work anyway. So you should be in good shape regardless

Cerakote is different. Hands down the sharpest hunting shotgun I've ever seen was at the guys shop that dipped mine. He had a SBEII with a burnt bronze cerakoted barrel and receiver and the stock and forearm was dipped in duck blind. Sweetest looking using shotgun ever. That sumbuck was slick

I've got a Benelli I carry at work so it's always getting banged up going in/out of the car. Which type coating is best for protection, not necessarily looks?

(Obviously, I don't need a camo pattern for a tactical shotgun)

Ok, thanks. After the Christmas bills subside I am going to do it. It's been beat up bad and starting to really show it.
