You don't know Simon Belmont? From Castlevania? Pretty damn iconic and a tragedy he isn't in Smash. Should be a shoehorn in for Smash 5 though.

Arthur as in King
Castlevania, Ghouls n Ghost or Strider (who got a 360 game and has been in multiple Capcom fighting games). You might not know the "character" by name, but the games...?

These are not niche.... Rydia and Terra are stand ins for another Final Fantasy Squaresoft character. Yes we get Cloud, but sadly he looks like Shulk pt. 2. Jill Valentine is Resident Evil. Could go with Claire, Chris, or a host of others.
You have to know those games, right? I'd find it hard to believe that someone knows Banjo and Kazooie but not Castlevania or Resident Evil, both of which still have had title games made in the last few years.

So those 3 characters posted were fakes.
The real 2 final DLC characters are Bayonetta and Corrin?
Never played Bayonetta so I have never heard of it.
Who the frick is Corrin? Google Search shows its another Fire Emblem character. Why? We already have a shite ton of Fire Emblem characters. Corrin looks like another generic anime inspired sword fighter. Yay?

Interesting.No Rool? Booooooo. Bayonetta is an fun addition.
Corrin is a better than anyone but Ike in terms of FE, but yeah there are too many FE characters now. FE is niche here in the states. And yet another sword user, ugh.
But more characters is more characters.

I agree that Sakurai has lost his mind with the number of FE characters. That's 6. That is the second highest of any franchise, tied with Pokemon, Nintendo's second largest franchise after Mario. Fire Emblem is still niche as hell over in the states. Lucina has no business in Smash anymore. Hell, when they started showing off Kid Icarus in the Bayonetta trailer, I just about shite a brick thinking they were putting yet another Kid Icarus character in.

I admit I haven't downloaded any of the DLC characters.
Only Mewtwo has really interested me.
What would be the best way(and cheapest) to get all the DLC? Is it just characters that are DLC or are their stages and assist trophies and items too?

Troll post aside, I'm really surprised they didn't go with the Inklings as a Smash character. Seemed like there was a ton of moveset potential and to capitalize on the Splatoon name. Guess they wanted to promote Fire Emblem yet again in the US. They should have given us a Splatoon stage at the very least like they did with Animal Crossing in Brawl. Smash 5 they'll probably be the first character announced, and I'm sure they'll have a lot of Splatoon items to add to the brawl.

Waluigi or bust in Smash 5. I'm tired of him getting the shaft. But Inklings would be awesome, they are almost tailor made to join the fray.

Waluigi is really the character that defines the D-List for me. I just think he should always be an Assist Trophy unless he has a bigger role.

Bump. Not sure if it's Smash 5 or a port, but Smash for the 2018 is confirmed with the Inklings and Link in Breath of the Wild attire.

Rumors are they’re introducing 8 new characters today. I’m guessing they’re including the Inklings in that, so for the other 7:
1) Wild Link/Zelda (Regular Link will henceforth be called Twilight Link)
