Bochy just had a major heart procedure, not his first one if Im correct. As far as I know, he has a good relationship with Brian Sabean. I dont see him going anywhere.

And wtf yall already want to replace Maddon

NLCS, WS Championship, NLCS in his first three years. What more do you want?

I also don't think that would be an upgrade

I really like Bruce Bochy. Seems like the most laid back dude on the planet.

Yeah not bringing Davis in was terrible but you can't overlook everything they've accomplished. Also probably wouldn't sit well in that clubhouse at all

Exactly. Look maybe there were numbers behind it somewhere, i dont know. Maybe it was just a hunch. It was a weird decision that looked like a weird decision even at the time.

Csnt do anything about it now, Cubs have to score some runs. Period.

Exactly. Winning in the playoffs mostly comes down to luck and good fortune. Getting there consistently is what matters.

Manager Joe Maddon set up his team to lose with the worst choice of reliever, while the impotent offense set up the Cubs to lose with the worst choice of pitches to swing at. So much stench, so little space. No, wait, we have infinite space on the interwebs to examine a defending world champion in a death spiral for which blame can start near the top.

Maddon says the issue is the Cubs haven’t hit, and he’s right in that the lack of offense is an issue, and conveniently for Maddon, it’s the issue that doesn’t involve his agonizing pitching decisions.

Unless Bruce Bochy is intent on staying on the left coast, I would throw every available dollar at him after this season.

Maddon is a shitty in-game manager... he's great overall, but Bochy is as good as there is.

Holy overreaction.

There's no overreaction to Bochy being as good as there is at managing a ball club.

I'm 36, and I've yet to see one better.

Exactly, he should not have gotten a pitch to hit, make somebody besides their best player beat you or at least pitch somebody who hasn't nearly set a record for gopher balls to pitch to him.

Maddon is a good manager but seems he's talking the hip cool celebrity act a little too far.

I really like Joe and was thrilled to get him and I'm still thrilled to have him. I think organizationally and in the big picture of building and maintaining a team with Motivation, morale and all that goes with team-builing...he's the best in baseball.

But his strength is not in game situational managing, in fact I think it's a weakness something I think he shows repeatedly in the post-season.

You put it perfectly.

There are better all-around managers out there. Maddon is probably the best over a long period of time at getting his guys focused, yet keeping them loose, etc., but in-game managing is a glaring weakness.

That doesn't mean that I would want him gone. The only two guys that I would take over him in the last 20 years or so are Bochy and Leyland.

I love how Maddon all of a sudden is not a good in game manager.

The offense is doing nothing, so yea, it's easy to look like an idiot at the end of a close game when you have to rely on shitty bullpen pitchers. Even more so when your starter can't even go 5IP.

I can see how a lot of LSU fans end up being Cubs fans.

That was my first thought when I saw the suggestion to replace Maddon.

“Thats some LSU fan shite right there”

Look what Tampa did before Joe and what they've done since he's gone. That says a lot to me.

I frankly would not trade him for any manager but his in game decisions are very frustrating and head-scratching sometimes. We honestly had to overcome several really IMHO bonehead decisions to win it all last year, and having heard his explanation for a couple of them at the Cubs Convention....did not help I did not agree with his reasoning at all.
