i'm going to guess there are genetic issues at play
i know an attorney who has 2 biological kids but has adopted 3 or 4 b/c he and his wife carry a genetic profile that isn't worth risking having another biological kid.

OR it could be a couple who has a heart for kids who don't have a home, and for an NFL player, they obviously have a means to provide that.
