Termite contract/treatment

Just purchased a home that didn't have existing termite contract, the home was inspected and determined to be termite free.
My Issue is it's a pier and beam house with runners for the footings which doubles linear treatment area of the home. One quote is $2k to treat with liquid the other is $2800 with terminix bait traps.
Liquid would require $150 annual renewal and the 2800 quote covers treatment and annual inspections no charge for ten years.
Does anyone have experience with terminix and bait traps?

$2800 for the traps seems expensive. When I worked for Terminex it was roughly $900 if there were no signs of active termites. The traps are more expensive if there are active termites on or near the house.
In my opinion the liquid treatment is better because it creates a barrier around your entire house. The traps on be other hand are spac d every 10 feet and termites have to find them. Terminex offers the same coverage with both.

You're good for at least 5 yrs with a treatment but you're paying $1500.00 for 10. Roll, the dice and forgo the plan.

If you are in Baton Rouge, call Rick Story with Baton Rouge Pest Control. Been using him for 20 years and his prices are very reasonable.
