If The British Did What Progressives In This Country Wanted

How many world famous buildings, castles and monuments would be torn down? Would castles owned by nobles who rebelled against the crown be torn down? Would houses where servants once worked be torn down because the descendants of said servants were offended? Would the Tower of London be gone due to it being a place where scores of unjust murders took place by tyrant kings?
Would the statues of kings who enslaved or murdered people be torn down? What about those of medieval or renaissance nobles who had servants who were the equivalent of slaves? What about those who advocated for and expanded the British Empire? That would include famous statesmen like the Duke of Wellington, Benjamin Disraeli and Winston Churchill.
The British have a history full of rebellion against the Crown, feudalism, class strife, war and empire. Unlike us, they don't seem to be trying to erase the uncomfortable parts of their history.
ETA: To those who would say many of these properties are private, most large estates in the U.K. are operated by the National Trust.

You would think the pyramids in Egypt would be a major target

The Colosseum in Rome is not long for this world...

Some of the more radical members of the Egyptian govt have introduced bills to blow up the Sphinx and the pyramids because they are offensive to Mohammed. The bills never went anywhere.

I hate watching someone defend erasing their country's history piece by piece because it's offensive or uncomfortable.

In fairness, libertarians are going to be among the least nationalistic individuals you'll ever meet

You probably root for the Empire when you watch Star Wars don't you?

How many people really learned all their Civil War history from staring at a statue?

If you think this is just about removing Civil War statues you are mistaken. This is about removing any vestige of our history that may offend someone. Students today are taught more about Rosa Parks than they are the Founding Fathers. Schools don't teach the Federalist Papers or the Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions.
Statues are historical monuments to important figures. They are often in prominent locations in cities that serve as starting points for historical tours and historical discussions. But it won't end there. It will be street signs, museum exhibits and finally any item that is uncomfortable. Seriously, the PC progressives in this country are trying to turn us into a Demolition Man society for the perpetually offended, where people are fined for cursing or saying something mean.

Anyone who has seen the pyramids in person would realize that it would take a huge amount of explosives to destroy them.
Unless they have a couple dozen GBU-28's the stuff they use would just remove the dust from the outside. The pyramids are huge and solid as hell. Good luck to anyone wanting to destroy them.

Honestly, it would probably be more efficient to dismantle them brick by brick.

No, I live in reality, unlike many "Libertarians."

I see your point, but it's not a great example. Those are actual historical structures. A statue built in honor of someone is not. Of course, some are built by historical figures/artists which is fair.
