We just got school pics every year but nothing for the beginning of the year. The big thing is to post their beginning of the year pics and at the end of the year they post another pic next to the beginning pic as a comparison. Usually the only difference is the kid's hair or something.

My dad took pic for my birthday every year with me standing next to my bedroom door frame. Was cool to see the growth.

I like how this innocent act of taking pics of your child as they grow rustles your jimmies

never once had a back to school picture taken unless you count football team photos during summer practice

This is just more social media bred silliness. Social media is making society borderline unbearable at times.

If this is the case, why did it exist before social media?

Wut

The people taking pics of their kid's first day of school had theirs taken. That was obviously before social media, so again, I ask

Yea, pic taken before leaving the house on the first day. Except we didn't have any signs and my parents did what normal people did then; had the photos developed and put them in an album.

The FB posts and ornate signs are just another social media look at me thing. Just like putting literally anything else on social media.

I never understand why people are on social media if they don't want to be social.
