While i know demolition of that half of the stadium would be expensive, they will still have to have upkeep of that whole side for years to come. You can't just "forget about it" and it is never going to revert back to a baseball stadium.

I think the plan is to eventually remove those stands for other purposes (for what I have no idea).

Long story short, after we won the Sunbelt our first season, Jeff Monken took the Army job. Then Willie Fritz coached for two seasons, and left for Tulane. Now we have shitty Tyson Summers who can't coach to save his life.

We also run the triple option garbage.

I'm fully aware of the coaching history. That "triple option garbage" is where Southern has found it's most success and every time they try and move to something different they end up going back.

Jeff Monken was a Paul Johnson guy that ran the option, so you are talking out of both sides of your mouth. You blame the losses on losing Monken, and then you go on to bitch about the offense (that Monken ran).

There's no excuse for getting your shite pushed in at home by a team that started football less than a decade ago.

Here is another pic. I still can't believe ATL replaced two stadiums that were 25 years old

Given our stadium history, it's nothing new:

Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium: 32 years (1965-97)
The Omni: 25 years (1972-97)
Georgia Dome: 25 Years (1992-2017)
Turner Field: 20 Years for baseball (1997-2016), stil exists for GSU FB

Turner field made a little sense. They moved the stadium to the center of the season ticket holders. The area was a dump and the new one is in a brand new entertainment district.

The new football one is dumb as shite since it is right across the fricking street from the Georgia dome

No one ever claimed how great the Ga Dome was. Good memories? Sure. But this new stadium is incredible. It got Atlanta an MLS team, CFP games, Super Bowl, final four and looking at World Cup.

Well worth it.

No I certainly do not blame Monken, he was an exceptional coach and dominated during his time here. Fritz was decent but did not sustain the same program that Monken continued. Things really dipped when we went with Summers.

I am assuming you are an App State fan with your clear hate for GSU. It's ok, I forgive you.

The ironic part of this is GSU's development at the old Turner site (beyond Athletics) will probably help expedite the transformation of the dumpy neighborhood. It could actually do what Turner failed to do in terms of spurring development.
