Freeman and the flips

Anybody else notice that Freeman tries to "flip" his throws to 2nd and even 1st lately? Even when he has time and the distance, he wants to just flip it. He hasn't looked comfortable the last few games when throwing overhand to first. Kinda like he's throwing darts and trying to guide it.
