Looking to purchase a new all-in-one printer and leaning towards the HP Officejet Pro 6978. Anyone have this model or maybe recommend one? TIA

I have that exact same one. We bought it I think on Black Friday last year and have not had any issues with it. The wife is a teacher so we signed up for the HP instant ink and she uses mostly for work. The wifi is really nice feature that we did not have with our old all-in-one.

In my experience they are all junk, especially if rarely used.

Not all in one but a brother laser will be cheap to operate and last a long time. Bought this one myself. Little more of a headache to install than it should have been but it's great.

I have a brother all in one laser and it's f*ing awesome. So much so my wife bought one for her office, and as a gift for a colleague.

Buy a Laser.
All inkjets suck. If you do very sporadic printing you will end up with dead ink cartridges and borked print heads. Conversely, if you print regularly then youll save in the long run on ink costs by going with a laser printer.
Inkjet printers are like leasing a car - very few cases in which they actually make the most sense.

I have an Epson WF3540 inkjet that's 4-5yyears old and sees occasional use, mostly printing via WiFi and sheet-fed scanning.
The high capacity cartridges last longer than an HP and clogging has never been an issue.
