I have 2 5k pound axles on my trailer so don't plan on being much heavier than 10k lbs. Just wondering if that's asking too much of the truck

Oh and no trailer breaks

10k with no trailer brakes is tough. The drivetrain can handle it easily.

Depends on year model and gearing in the rear.

I would get a brake controller for sure. Most of the trucks are pre wired from them and the trailer brake harness is included in the truck or at least it was with mine.

doesn't do any good if the trailer doesn't have brakes
OP I drug a FEMA trailer loaded with building materials from Hammond to palacios TX pretty easily with my 6.0 2500 but it had trailer brakes

your truck can handle the weight but take it easy when you brake because that load can and will push your truck

Yea the truck has them, trailer doesn't. As long as my truck can handle the hills of southwest Miss with that load I'll breath a little easier

It'll do it just fine. Take a YouTube video of your gas needle moving

I've towed that much without trailer brakes, but I upgraded my brake system. Wasn't too bad

I've had about 15k behind mine.
