Yeah but anything more than our 2nd still puts us trade raped overall in both trades, and the 2nd still puts it firmly in the Pats favor.

I'm hoping the situation was: "We'll make this portion of the trade now before Cooks' bonus kicks in, and send you Butler once a deal is worked out." Only way this makes sense.

Maybe they did not want to pay that 700k and have a backdoor deal to send the 3rd back once Butler signs.
