Ill be in Gueydan, La Thursday afternoon through Saturday afternoon doing some duck/goose hunting. We are told the geese are thick but the ducks arent flying much.
Im not a big bird hunter so anyone with any recent reports or opinions with the front passing Friday?

My bro in law tapped the specks pretty hard in Gueydan last week. That's all I got.

I have a few buddies that have a lease in Gueydan. They have had the best season to date this year with a mixed bag of geese and ducks every hunt.

I'd think what you're saying is spot on. Not many ducks the past few years, always thick with geese.

I know a number of people who hunt gueydan/Thornwell/Klondike/Wright. They're all stroking the specks. Consider the ducks you kill a bonus. Bring a face mask

Should do well on Specks if you have a decent spot. I drove through their the other day from Lake Chuck to Laffy and the geese numbers are impressive. As you said, ducks are hit or miss.

The Duck Commander brand of face paint is also a great option if you don't want to wear a face mask. I think they make stickers for your gun barrel as well.

This is a work trip so its a company's lease and they use local guides in their blinds if need be so i think we will be alright.

I was there from Sun afternoon to this afternoon. We had a good duck hunt Mon. with the fog and low cloud cover. This morning our blind took seven ducks. But there are a lot of geese around Gueydan right now...most I've seen this season.

Hunted marsh south of gueydan and lake Arthur last thurs and Friday, did really well both days on ducks and a couple of specks. FIL went today to same place and had big hunt so ducks are around in some places. Saw good many specks on the ground in my driving around the area sudsy afternoon.
