Seems like yesterday i remembered hearing Coach O telling everyone that he was going to bring in the best OC there was and run a spread offense and lock down all the Louisiana recruits. WOW what a Lying frick he hasn't lived up to one promise yet. Coach O and Aleva will destroy LSU football

We should have offered Herman 6 million.

I still can't believe we fired Miles to promote a DL coach at an established LSU

After years of staring we need an x and o offensive mind

Now we depend upon this

When you fire a decade-tenured, 100+ wins coach, without an iron-clad, Plan A locked in - all that's left is the signing and then have to go with Plan C - don't blame Plan C for being Plan C, baw.

It is what it is.

Blame Alleva - at least O is trying to do the best job he can do - about that I have no question. And he does know how to recruit and coach football (maybe not as a P5 Head Coach, but to hell with it - that goat is already fricked) - why Alleva is the AD for our school totally fricking escapes me every single day.

How did this come about? Can we somehow blame Obama and/or Saban for this catastrophe?

You won't agree, and you will downvote this post and post a flip the bird emoticon, but, the fact of the matter is, YOU and PEOPLE LIKE YOU are the problem! Saban nailed it: "catastrophe syndrome." I call it the Eeyore (the Winnie the Pooh donkey with the black rain cloud perpetually trailing over his head) "woe is me" syndrome.

It is YOUR fault that LSU football is perceived by some as having a negative fanbase, and this perception DOES harm recruiting, b/c recruits (why, I'll never know) DO read all of this negative crap, and I'm sure other schools use it against LSU.

Please understand, I was not thrilled with O's hiring, and if I were Alleva, would've thrown more money at Fisher, or Herman, or, extended the search. I am NOT happy w/ what I perceive to be Alleva's pathetic "coaching search." ("I am the search.")

However, at the same time, if I am to be honest, I do recall giddily telling my son at halftime of the Alabama game, "we should keep O! This is great!" I was VERY impressed with the team turnaround -- say what you will about Missouri, but to set a record for most yards gained in an SEC game ... EVER .... in a 100+ year span? Coincidental? Common sense says not. Changing the practices (which pro scouts lauded as "best they've seen"). Look, what Orgeron did in a very short period of time was impressive.

Again, had it been me, I would've further negotiated w/ Herman, and/or Fisher. However, Ed O is now our coach, and, I think he has a good chance to be successful, IF fans will just stop with all this negative bullshite! If you want Alleva fired, knock yourself out, write your congressman, write the Governor, the Board of Supervisors, but STOP publically crapping on the institution that you claim to love!

By the way, either Canada or Helfrich would be GREAT hires for OC. I prefer to stay positive. Let's hire a great OC. Let's win the bowl game. Let's sign a top 5 recruiting class. Let's effing roll!

Gilbert needs to be met with as well.

PLEASE Interview at least four and as many as six options. Interviews should have been completed already to be ready to pull the first trigger after Lane said "no".

Very poor administrative efforts being demonstrated thus far.

No one has been more critical of Alleva than me, going all the way back to last year. Ultimately I agree with you, but don't pretend O was some kind of innocent bystander pushed into the spotlight unwittingly.

He saw this potential opportunity coming when he signed on here in 2015 and even before that was lining up local radio and media people in his year off to get behind him as the people's choice if he was ever in the interim position.

He did and said everything behind the scenes to set the stage for this completely improbable situation to play out, regardless of whether or not he would be able to do the things he was promising.

And he absolutely would have tucked tail and run to Bama if his plan failed and the job went to someone else despite his nonstop declaration of love for LSU and Louisiana.

I don't blame him per say, because he was just looking out for himself and his family, but he certainly was not some passive guy just trying to be there for LSU in her time of need.

The dude conned the shite out of Joe Alleva, not very hard to do, but he did it and he deserves just as much blame as Alleva if he fails to live up what he sold himself as.

In my opinion, of course.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, BUT, I have a lot more faith in Orgeron than Alleva. I have no idea who Orgeron has already spoken to. The fact that it hasn't been reported in the media, or on Tigerdroppings, really means dick. Really.

I would take, right now, Matt Canada as our OC, and I would like this to happen this week. But taking emotion out of it, does it really matter if it is this week... unless we are talking about early enrollees? NSD is in early February ... right? So, if an OC is named b/w now and NSD (and yeah, of course, the much sooner the better) ... couldn't that OC talk to Narcisse, and Akers, and whomever, and convince them to sign with LSU? As far as Buggs, and other defensive recruits ... we have the best DC in the country locked in with a huge contract ... let him do some work.
