Question about The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode1

Spoiler alert obviously...
Can someone explain what Negan meant by, "The first one is free" and then going after Glenn? So Daryl went after Negan and I guess that counts as #1. Had Glenn done something prior to that leading to Negan bashing his head in? I just don't remember the events of the Season 6 finale that well. So any refresher about particular events that caused Glenn to lose his life is appreciated.

The first one was in the last episode of last season.

yes, as a viewer it is our understanding that Glenn was killed bc Daryl punched Negan.

The first interruption was in the season 6 finale. When Lucille was pointed at Maggie, Glen jumped out and screamed. That was the free one. Then Daryl sucker punched Negan. That was #2

Definitely a little too much boy who cried wolf there. Once it was his time to actually die for real, it made it less sad IMO.
BTW, I was wondering what the first free one was as well, but I had forgotten about Glenn rising up and yelling in the finale. That makes more sense that what Darryl did was no longer free.
