currently have AT&T with no intentions of switching.
scenario is I'm now in a hunting lease in Waynesboro, MS and the only member that gets service on the property has Verizon and it is only 3g and 1x
the rest of us have ATT so we can't compare if Sprint or Virgin etc. would give us a signal there
Looking to get phones that we can pay as we go and put them away for next year after the season is over...smart phones aren't necessary as we just want to communicate on the lease and back home to our families
any help would be appreciated in phones and the services they use.
Thanks

Total wireless is the discount carrier for verizon.
Don't know much about their phone offerings, but it's $25 a month for unlimited talk/text with no service contracts. They use Verizon towers to get the signals.

Yea just buy a Prepaid SIM card off Verizon towers that lasts whatever amount of time and swap it with current phone or.. buy cheap phone that uses Verizon towers and activate the prepaid card for when u need it and use the phone provided.
Verizon MVNOs are company's who use their towers or use them on their prepaid network Verizon has cheap ore paid phones and plans too with no commitment

Here is a comprehensive list but I use total wireless

You may also want to look at CSpire. My alternator went out 25 miles south of Waynesboro in Fruitdale, AL on the way home from G Shores. I have Cspire as my carrier and had no problems getting signal. The good ole boy that gave me a ride to Waynesboro said you must have Cspire because it's the only cell phone provider that works around here. Cspire is the only carrier that works at my camp in Noxubee County, MS.
Cspire has a pay as you go plans from $2 a day or by the month. Cspire also has a couple of free after rebate pay as you go phones.
