Visiting some friends in Santa Cruz and was thinking about riding around Stanford and maybe checking out Google, Apple, etc. Heard there may not be much to see but looking to chill out and just ride around. Any recommendations as far as sights, places, restaurants to check out?

Stanford is a beautiful campus, worth driving around if you are in the area. There is a main drag just outside of campus with lots of bars and restaurants, you can't miss it.

The central CA coast is one of my favorite parts of the World. For my time, there are much better sights in the area than Stanford and Google. Both are neat, and worth a visit, but not worth a special trip.

My unsolicited advice would be to explore the area, drive the coast, visit Carmel, 17 Mile Drive, Big Sur, Monterey, and Half Moon Bay are all roughly the same driving distance from Santa Cruz as Palo Alto, and definitely more memorable.

Either way, it is all very nice, like I said, one of my favorite places to visit!

I would personally stay in Santa Cruz, go exploring in the surrounding state parks/beaches...or go to SF
