Haven't read the entire thread, but are people really still defending Peat?

I defend him as a player, not his performance last night.

I didn't get to watch much last night, but I would like to see some position stability for Peat. The dude has been lined up at every O-line position, except for Center, since the beginning of his rookie season. I will say, that once the regular season starts excuses won't matter though. If he's not playing up to par, he's not up to par. However, I'm not that concerned yet.

Because they can't find a spot he does well at. If there is such a big need for a guard, why not keep him there.

I remember the folks that used to say the same things about Jonathan Sullivan and Alex Molden..all they need is time.

Not true, dude is not good. No mean streak in his bones

That is where he will play this year. I thought he did pretty good there last year but if you are telling me he is worthy so far of the 13th pick in the draft then I'm just not seeing it. I still cannot believe that we have failed so completely at the Offensive Guard position, it's not like we have a 5'11 quarterback who is still great with OUR guards but is unstoppable when he is afforded to step up in the pocket.

Dude is Jonathan Martin 2.0.

Was a garbage pick draft night and nothing has changed. Dude is fricking awful.

He's performance last night was poor. I'd bet money his next game is vastly improved and he will be a solid starter in the NFL, which will be disappointing being taken as high as 13

Edit: and everyone talking mad shite on the dude and suggesting we cut bait on a 2nd year player are fricking stupid.

Thru all last season, I called him Project Peat and people here bashed me. You draft a player at 1-13 to be an instant starter or major contributor. Last year Peat was neither. I know it's only the first preseason game but he showed no improvement Thursday night. He was beaten badly on several plays and holding calls against him. This guy is going to be a bust mark my words. I hope he proves me wrong and I'm not saying to give up on him but Drew is depending on him!!!

i am calling bullshite unless you can prove it. it is possible, I mean you and all the other bitching roaches only come out if we look bad in a game, or a player is not playing hall of fame worthy in only his second season.
