I'm sure this topic has been discussed before. I live in Baton Rouge and get my TV service from Cox and have wireless phone from AT&T that cost $25 per month. Cable with six boxes, and no internet costs approximately $160 per month. I also have a camp in Leeville with cable from Vision that costs $75 per month. I don't need internet service at either location because I carry a hot spot provided by my employer. I'm considering switching to Direct TV and getting an extra box and portable satellite for my camp. Please provide pros cons, and good or bad experiences with any or all of the above. TIA

This is what we do for our camp in grand isle. You can buy a dish for like 10 bucks on ebay. The only thing you have to do is to make sure the box stays plugged in when not in use so that Directv doesn't deactivate it. We kept having that issue cause we would bring it home for the winter and leave it in the closet and we would have to call to get it reactivated every summer. Finally the lady at Directv told us to just keep in plugged in when we weren't using it and we wouldn't have to call anymore.
