The streetcar doesn't take you that close to the entrance to celebration in the oaks. At night, you should take an uber.

It couldn't be easier. You can go from the App Store download to your car showing up in 10 minutes

This. Streetcar is cool, but it would take FOREVER from the base of Canal to City Park. Plus, you would still have to walk 1/4-1/2 a mile once you got to the park to get to Celebration in the Oaks.

Ubers are easy to get in the area when you left the park as well. I've never had to wait .more than 5 min for a ride at my house in bayous St. John

its a "nice" walk once you get off the street car if you have kids and its cold

the street car ride it self isnt terrible.

Depends on how you define close. It takes you to the front of Noma which is less than a quarter mile to the entrance.

Streetcar is easy and safe however that line runs only every 30 minutes I think so you should look up the schedule and try to time it, especially when heading back downtown.

Also there are 3 different canal streetcars, make sure you get on the one that says "Canal/City Park", not the one for the cemeteries or Loyola/UPT.

It is more than a quarter mile. It's more like a half a mile, and the fastest way would be to get off at dumaine and walk directly to the front of storyland.

Life pro tip: buy tickets online ahead of time and skip the ticket line.

Guess where we had to park last weekend and walk to Celebration in the Oaks........ right in front of the NOLA museum of art.

It really wasn't a bad walk event w my 3 little ones. Stop by Morning Call on your way back to the car and grab coffee and beignets.

I live a few blocks from City Park. The Canal-City Park line has a streetcar running every 20 minutes. The ride should take you 30 minutes. The walk from the streetcar stop to the Storyland entrance is a little over 1/2 mile. Regular service from City Park ends around 10:00 PM. If you are pressed for time, you may want to take a cab or Uber.
