that's basically what they do

Wichita State was undefeated and ended up losing in round 2 to an 8 seed. they got a #1.

that St. Joseph's team that was undefeated till the end, they got a #1 that year and didn't make the final 4

Assuming Stanford win Pac 12 & UNC wins ACC, you have to put in Stanford or every teams OOC is going to shift toward FCS schools.

Stanfords loss @#13 is not worse than a FCS win at home.

If it does happen OOC play is going to really suck because there is absolutely no incentive in scheduling loseable games.

I agree. UNC could beat Clemson by 50 and still watch another team go as far as I'm concerned. I don't like Stanford getting in either. They'd be conference champions, but they lost twice. I don't think they should benefit from every other team in their conference being mediocre.

What really gets me is that we probably wouldn't even be having this conversation if it were an SEC team sitting on the outside.
