it is kind of comical how many folks roll across the river this afternoon...kind of reminds me of opening weekend of duck season in Cameron parsish 20 years ago...the whole damn place just gets inundated with people.

There were quite a few *shudder* Dodges on the road on the way up this afternoon.

Did they have their tow mirrors fully extended yet not pulling anything?

Z71's hauling everything from bad boy buggies to 86 Honda 3wheelers headed north on Hwy 61. Like baby ducks in a row they head to the Florida Parishes or SW Mississippi to pillage the bounties of the land. Every gas station along the way is full of Camo clad folks with complimentary hightop white shoes. They've traded their Salt Life shirts for Team Realtree and removed rod holders from their trucks and added that necessary 32" LED light bar.

For the next two months these weekend warriors will wage war on the deer with no mercy. They will complain with a cigarette hanging from their lips for the entire month of November how the deer numbers are down. They will reflect back on all the wealth of knowledge they learned in the off season from the Sportsman and Outdoor channels.

As December comes and goes and January flys by, 2 year old "studs" will fall to be trophies above a fireplace. They'll leave empty corn and rice bran bags scattered along the roadways. As Febuary creeps in the land will breathe a big sigh of relief and begin to recover from the rape she had received.

Happy hunting

There seriously needs to be a gate on the Buffalo river bridge.

I've always thought the big white igloo ice chest was like your golden ticket to leave the state of Louisiana. And they always piled the corn and rice bran on top to keep there ticket from getting blown away.

Funny post Feliciana

I grew up hunting in St Helena, and the locals loathed when the Coonies came up. Shot everything in sight. You would have thought they were starving to death.

If it's brown it's down!!!!

Shame on All those people who are trying to enjoy the outdoors and maybe even bring a kid or two with them to teach them about hunting. They should know that the woods are reserved only for people who live in the sticks . And please tell them to leave their money and lease payments , and everything else they do that stimulates the local enconmy at home. And while we are at it , let's put up a barricade at the parish line and prevent the "locals" from coming to "town" to go to work, shop, get medical care, go to the hospital etc.

hightop white shoes.

Misidentification. As a resident of the area (by way of the bayou region) my observation is that these kicks are reserved for the hoards of spike slaying local plant workers who typically hunt midweek on other people's property. My south of I-10 people would never be caught seen wearing such footwear. It's crocs with socks until the white rubber shrimp boots go on. I have a pair on now.

You mean BR area folks. As others said, it's duck season down here. Coonasses love their duck hunting.
The BR folk head north for deer season then migrate south for trout in the summer.... amazingly they hate when you point them out for heading south for specs
