Can LSU become a championship caliber team again anytime soon?

I think we can if we can close out this recruiting class strong and get a couple more like it in the next couple years. Two years ago we had a strong recruiting class.
Then the other thing is for our offense scheme to be improved. Which I think can happen even with Cam. Seems as the season has gone on we are trying to add a better passing game and trying to rely less on power run plays out of the I. At times it seems CAM/Miles are starting to understand the importance of creating space for the WR's, TE's, QB, and RB's to make plays in. Just the pace of development has been very slow. But maybe we can get there on offense even with Cam as OC.
So we are not really that far away. All we need are better jimmy and joes (especially in the trenches)and better coaching (especially on the offense side of the ball when it comes to offense scheme). With those two things, better players and better coaching, we can be a better team. Does anyone else think that?

We're ranked in the top 10 and can still win out and finish 10-1. That's elite no matter how you slice it.

We are championship caliber now. The issue is that the one team we cannot solve is in our division.

well we have to beat them to get to the championship and lining up in an I as your base formation with less powerfull players is a recipe for disaster.

I honestly don't think that it is the team, this falls squarely on the coaches. I absolutely believe with better offensive play calling, we can beat anyone. But ramming your head against a brick wall that is poised to stop it, just for the sake of doing it, when there are much better options is just maddening. We only get about 60 plays a game to earn points. More imaginative play calling that used #7 as a decoy while throwing quick passes would have eventually opened up the run. This would have worked two fold, it would have kept the chains moving so their D was on the field and not ours. A rested D is in a much better position to stop Henry and company and if we put them behind in the score, they would be more likely to pass which would have worked to our advantage as well.

you don't just suddenly change the whole nature of your offense and become creative in the middle of the season, It starts in the spring. Was to late to change our offense into a suddenly more creative and explosive type offense. We do what we do at this point in the season.
