Yahoo Sports - "Undefeated LSU is putting together a zesty gumbo of ingredients that could create a Southeastern Conference championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff."

"Leonard Fournette is the meat, all of it. Harris and his receivers are the vegetables, underrated but essential. Defense is the stock. And the secret ingredient? The mystifying Les Miles."

Yahoo Sports - 'It was a dazzling first half for Harris." Brandon Harris - "I play with a chip on my shoulder every week."

AP - "Perhaps someone at Florida should have reminded first-year coach Jim McElwain about Les Miles' propensity to gamble against the Gators."

If play calling is like the 2nd quarter there is no need for fake play. I don't know why coaches go into a shell as soon as we go ahead. Fla play calling was like our 2nd Q the entire game, that was the reason they kept the game close.

SI - Fla. defense slowed Fournette, Tigers responded by unleashing Harris."

If special teams had not helped to surrender 14 pts., LSU would have blown out this mighty Fla defense, and we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

I agree that we may have went a bit too conservative in the 2nd half, but imo the refs decided from the start of the half that LSU wasn't going to run away with it. Tons of drive killing calls or no calls.
Perhaps they had money on the game

LSU lineman had a penalty which killed one drive, I was at the game. Crowd got very angry and hostile at the no-calls.

I agree. The holding right after half killed that drive. Then later the hit out of bound that was picked up was bs.

Then there was the PI in the end zone tat led to the field goal attempt.

While they vanillaed it up a little in the second half. The officials didn't help either

The roux is the play in the trenches, the most important base for a championship team.

When its superman, Leonard Fournette! Holding him to anything less than 200 yds rushing, my guess is a win.

I make the best seafood gumbo in La, seriously. But it doesn't take a professional cook to know LSU's cooking without any roux.

He doesn't get it, LSU's offense was blowing away Fla's nationally respected defense, scoring 28 pts in a half without the help of a turnover. It was LSU's special teams that gave Fla any symbol of life.
