Man, what happened to him? I remember him being such a dominate force at LSU. His strength was man to man coverage. Isn't that the current scheme the Cowboys are running with him?

I guess that 0 on the Wonderlick was more revealing than we thought...

I had no idea this word was misused so often until I started posting here. I see it twice a day easily

Dominate is a verb
Dominant is an adjective

To answer your question though, there weren't a whole lot of good receiver in the sec when Claiborne was playing at lsu. He had a big learning curve and has actually gotten a lot better since his abysmal start to his NFL career. He'll probably end up being an average corner for a long time in the league, which is better than most

Claiborne is actually a decent corner now. He was horrible in zone schemes but he is back to playing his strength in man.

As for the gif, looks like the patriots were playing a game his processor couldn't keep up with

It wasn't much of a move. You see that little shuffle off the line all the time as a CB. He probably thought he was gonna jump an out route

Uh...yeah it was. It's in the execution. Look at his right leg - that's what sold it and it was done in a split second.

Further, I'll bet if we had game tape, Edelman was setting that up on prior plays.

Brains over brawn.

Fwiw, Edelman is one of the most agile people in the game. His straight line speed is ordinary at best though.

That's what a lot of casual fans have no idea about when they are watching a game.

Wide Receivers that "run good routes" are the ones that are able to make every route look the same before making cuts OR try and make a route look like another route. That's what makes Edelman so great.

I had NO idea. I don't mind typos and shite on message boards. There's no need to bitch about someone's spelling...who the hell cares? But I don't understand how so many people mess this one up. They're two different words! They're there and their sound the same. Dominate and dominant don't. Now I'm wondering if these people even acknowledge that dominant is a word. Do they not know?

Yeah, but this doesn't effect the thread at all.

Add to that he got called for hands to the face on the play before that for jamming the WR at the line.

If he thought Edelman was going to run an out route then he's dumber than his wonderlic indicates.

It's amazing the production the Pats get out of these average wide receivers.
