Pellet smokers. Anyone got one?

I don't have time to babysit the temperature, but dammit I miss smoked meats of all varieties.

Sounds like you're looking for an electric smoker where the temp stays constant and the meat probe will shut the unit off when your target is reached.

I have several. They work very well, if you want to set it and forget it. The smoke tends to lighter than charcoal or electric. They are basically a convection oven, which is useful for smoke roasting.

Of course, which the pellets feed into an augur and temp is electronically controlled. I saw one in Lowe's the other day. I'm just curious if it is worth that investment.

I've got a Traeger and use it a lot. Rep was just out at Costco. I think that they stock one model and hickory pellets. When the Rep's there they bring a bunch of different models. Good prices.

Pellet poopers are nice, wish I would of got one instead of electric.
