Hello OB. I've been lurking for some time and finally decided to jump into the fray as I need some advice from some of you that may fish in the Dularge area.

I have spoken with Capt. Travis Lovell about coming over in 2 weeks. Super nice guy, btw. My concern is the water clarity with the west winds that have been blowing & the chance of not getting on some specks. Should I stay or should I go? I will be bringing my 15 yr old son with me & would love to see him catch some fish. Lord knows he doesn't when I'm the "captain."

For OB initiation purposes: Springfield, Sig Sauer pistols, Ruger, Winchester, Browning rifles, Browning shotguns. I don't do Yeti or Salt Life nor kill every snake I encounter.

Thanks!

Travis is a good one, but those West winds are tough down in Dularge/ Dulac

Thise guides down there usually know how to catch even in not the best conditions.
Might have to run a Little farther to good water but they know where to look.
Fished a bachelor party with travis and he stayed with it after a hard first few hours
Ended up with our limits.

He also usually does a good job of staying in touch and giving cutomers option to reschedule if he looks at tides ir weather and doesnt feel positive about the trip.

Travis Lovell is a great guide and even better person. He should know what the winds are doing the week before. I've used him for the past 2 years and have never been disappointed when fishing in his boat. My girlfriend loves going fishing with us and won't fish with anyone else. You can't go wrong with going with Travis L. I use him when I take clients as well.

Welcome to the board.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. These guys know what they are doing. If trout bite is slow, they always know where to find some reds.

I really appreciate the responses. Upon further review this is not as much about catching fish as it is about a father & his son who unfortunately do not live together spending time together in a part of the world that neither one of us has ever been, even though I grew up in Louisiana.

Well Pioneer, you can't go wrong with Capt T. Lovell. You will not regret going with him at all. Enjoy and post pics after your trip.
