I am going to Europe in a couple days and have heard that it may not be possible to watch ESPN or HBO even through watchESPN and HBOGO. Is this true? Really don't want to miss the CWS games.

Damn. We will at least be able to watch the opener on Sunday at a bar since its an early game, but if we keep winning it won't be on until 2 am local over there so was hoping there was a way to watch on the computer

You can try watching on vip sports. Don't install anything such as an HD viewer, just watch the regular streams. And some stream links will ask you to check your country location by clicking on something. Don't do that. You can find good, working streams if you look around enough.

Do you have DISH? I went last summer and had access to every channel in my package with the DISH anywhere app. Watched a few NBA finals games over a wifi connection on my iPad. Maybe find a friend who has it and borrow their password.

Use something like Cyber Ghost and choose a US site.

Then sign on to Watch ESPN from wherever you are.

When I lived in Europe, I watched lsu through espnplayer. It's similar to watchespn, but the international version that focuses primarily on college sports. They have different subscriptions you can order.

I used a service called Tunnel Bear last summer in Europe to be able to watch Netflix, WatchESPN, HBOgo, etc. I think it was $10/month and that gave you the service on a laptop, plus one other device (has an app for iPhone and iPad). It sets up a VPN on your device and you choose which country you want it to look like your device is accessing the Internet from (ie. America). There are a couple of options for this, but Tunnel Bear was very user friendly and reasonably priced. Just cancel the service when you get back the the States.

ESPN Player is available in Europe for €22/mo or €10/day. I have Slingbox (hooked to DirecTV)for watching which works well. I also have Cyberghost for WatchESPN, however, the signal gets distorted and sometimes goes to audio only on my iPad. It does work well on my Mac though.

Where in Europe will you be traveling?

You need a VPN or IP address masker to make it think you are in the US.

It's true. You can try Hola but it's never worked with HBOGO for me.

ETA - and make sure you don't stream over 4G unless you have international service in the country you will be in.
