Here's a fun fact. The monks demand recycling of their bottles. In Europe, they achieve 60% return to their bottling facility. Each bottle can be used up to 10 times.

As distribution is worldwide, you can bet you've had a bottle that someone else in Europe has sipped from before you have.

I'm a fan of chimay premier, but there are other beers that are just as good or better at a better price.

I've gotten into the scotch ales and if interested founders dirty bastard is really good. Founders makes a few good ones

I had a bottle at a steakhouse one time. I reallly liked it and I'm not a beer drinker really.

Chimay is ok.

Trappist Rochefort and st. Bernardus are better trappist breweries. They cost between $5 and $8 per bottle.

Unibroue makes some very good trappist style beers like Trois Pistolas and LA Fin du Monde. It is in Canada,so it is less expensive- $2-$4 per bottle.

I like St. Bernardus, but Westmalle and Orval are hands down the best of the true Trappists IMHO.
