How is he live in concert? Love his early stuff (Where'd you hide the body album type stuff). Worth going to see? I picture a low energy acoustic show. Does he typically play songs like Levelland, Ruby and Carlos, Choctaw Bingo?

Plays all three with some regularity, esp Levelland and Choctaw.

Damn, just saw he was in town last night. Got to scratch him off the list some time.

I saw him Wednesday night at the continental club. He did a mix of acoustic and stuff with a band.

He played Levelland and other songs like that. Also played Choctaw Bingo about halfway into the set. I was waiting for him to play hurricane party but he never did.

Eta: played some stuff off the new album too.

Love him. Seen him many times and already have tickets for his show here in KC in late April. His new album is great. 90% acoustic and very americana. Love it. He almost always does more electric than acoustic in his shows, but does pull out the ole Martin Lawsuit Takamine 12 string and 6 string Guild at times. Hit or miss w/ Ruby and Carlos, but I never miss any of his shows if I can make it. Would strongly recommend Complicated Game, his latest.

New album is great. Some of those songs hit me in the gut like a punch. Particularly the one about living on Long Island for family and work and not hunting and playing guitar anymore.

It's like "No More Buffalo" revised for millenials.
