Never played MGS but that looks awesome. I didn't know jack Bauer played that dude. I never played because I thought he had a mullet. I know dumb, but that's how I am

Those graphics are incredible

Ah okay. I knew how much you liked Batman so I assumed you were big into stealth games and had probably played MGS. It's probably a hard series to get into at this point, but one of my favorites. Can't wait for the new one.

It looked so stupid on ps2 I had written it off. I thought it was like one of those Tom Clancy games

It's very difficult to describe them. Gameplay-wise they started off as top down stealth games with enemy movement patterns, vision cones, and awkward combat. Then they jumped to 3rd person in MGS 3: Snake Eater and have stuck with that since.

Plot-wise it's...well, it's crazy and sort of nonsensical but also genius, imo. The games typically have a military themed plot mixed with some anime type stuff (cyborg ninja's, giant robots, etc.) that makes a decent amount of sense within itself, but then it's also self referential, self aware, and very meta (for lack of a better term). There are layers to what's going on in the stories.

If MGSV:TPP interests you, maybe watch a few plot synopses. That might help but it's pretty confusing, even for someone like me who has played through some of them multiple times.

Game 1 was so awesome and in 2 the story just went off the rails.

I felt the same way at first, but then really came to appreciate what it was trying to do. Then I began to appreciate it even more after watching some in depth analysis of what Kojima might have been trying with the story.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but I find it super interesting and ambitious.

It's been delayed because of the inclusion of femlink
