Never too early to start looking at kids and why not a freshman D lineman from the Katy area starting varsity football in division 6A.

Max Wright 6'4" 225 lbs freshman d lineman

My cousin's husband is the head coach....I'll ask him if he is legit....but based on the film he is gonna be good. Pretty quick. They had a good season in his first year as head coach.

Drastic change for them. He must be a pretty solid coach. I know this kid as a baseball prospect, but I think he may eventually be so big that football may be his best ticket. It's always impressive to see a Defensive end flat out run down a rb. I can tell you from his film, he looks D1 for sure. You can tell he's learning the position a bit and will develop hand technique and such. I believe the d line coach played high school ball with Frank Wilson so there's that too.

if he is a good baseball standout, he should go to the Marucci high school tryout next week @ Baseball USA

His brother plays college baseball in Texas. I'm sure he knows about it. I've seen him play in tournaments at Baseball USA.

Also, if you're interested in baseball, Taylor high school may have a pitcher shoot up the scouting boards this spring/summer in Trey Morris. Probably a good 6'4" or 6'5" and threw 86-88 range as a sophomore. He has some development left just getting used to his body and striding down the hill, but he could be a kid that becomes a stud in a short period of time.

Looks like an early bloomer. Four years is a long time for these kids. Hard to project his playing weight and position from that far back.

His brother's name is Miles Wright and he ended up at St. Edwards after being recruited by Baylor and Dallas Baptist. I though he was DB bound for sure.

I know and scouted some of the UT kids. I've seen Kacy Clemens quite a few times and Jeremy Maltabano a ton and know his family from when they lived in Louisiana.

Seriously, he could be anywhere from DE, DT, to OT or OG depending on his size. He's a good looking athlete for carrying that size. And he's probably just learning how to lift. Could be something serious and like I said, this school has ties to Frank Wilson via this kid's position coach.

Too bad Taylor sucks at everything but tennis... If he was a freshman on the tennis team, y'all might be on to something

Danielle Hunter went to Morton Ranch; Donte Jackson goes to Riverdale; there are many cases to make your point irrelevant. Coaches don't care about that and talent can be found anywhere.

Here is an excerpt from an article about the top 10 freshmen in the state of Texas:

DE Max Wright (6-4/225) - Katy Taylor: People in Katy talk about Wright being the “next big thing.” He is a strongside end but still has a very quick first step and took on varsity offensive tackles well this year. He has a large frame and could possibly be a quick, pass-rushing interior lineman when all is said and done.

Also on the list was LSU commit Zadock Dinkelman.
